The Application of Ant Algorithm in Optimum Design of Antenna Structure

Ant Algorithm is a newly developed random bionics algorithm in recent years. The paper firstly introduces Ant Algorithm into the structural optimization. Three numerical examples have been presented. They are solved by Ant Algorithms, Genetic Algorithm and Simulated Annealing Algorithm and so on .The comparisons between them have been obtained in terms of efficiency and effectiveness. It must be noted that for the first numerical examples of the classic ten-bar truss, a number of optimal designs in previous literatures during the past thirty yeas have been summarized here. All these comparisons show that Ant Algorithm is a very satisfying algorithm for discrete structural optimization.
